Supporting Access to Dental Care Through the Canadian Dental Care Plan
The cost of dental care can be a barrier for some individuals and families. Star Dental participates in the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP), a federal program designed to help improve access to essential dental services for eligible Canadians who do not have private dental insurance.
If you or a family member do not have dental coverage through a private insurance plan, the CDCP may help support your dental care needs. Our team can provide general information about the program and assist with coordinating care once eligibility and coverage have been confirmed.
Who Is Eligible for the CDCP
The Canadian Dental Care Plan is available to eligible Canadians who meet all of the following criteria:
- No existing private dental insurance
- Adjusted family net income under $90,000
- Resident of Canada for tax purposes
- Filed an income tax return for the previous year

- Application processing times may vary. Coverage confirmation can take several weeks and, in some cases, up to three months.

How to Apply for the Canadian Dental Care Plan
To apply for the CDCP, you may need the following information:
- Social Insurance Number, if available
- Proof of income
- Full legal name and date of birth
- Home and mailing addresses
- Details of any other government benefit programs
- Most recent tax return and Notice of Assessment
